The New Tupton Ivanhoe F.C. Summer Festival of Football has had its most successful season on and off the pitch.
One of the largest grassroots football tournaments in the region. This year attracted over 200 teams from 93 clubs taking part in age groups from under U7s to U16s.
Clubs travelled from as fair as Hemel Hempstead with winners of the various tournaments coming from Leicestershire, Staffordshire, and the West Midlands. Many vowed to return to defend their titles in 2023.
Praise for the Summer Festival of Football
The club has received praise from many teams taking part. On Facebook, Dronfield F.C said, “Top tournament one of the best organised in the area, a privilege to be part of.” Wheatley Wanderers u16s commented “Brilliant tournament!! Well done to all involved.” Matlock Town praised the club posting “Fantastic tournament New Tupton Ivanhoe FC. Huge thanks to Dave Hoult and everyone who helped with our injury on Saturday. Thanks, from everyone at Matlock Town U14’s”
Fundraising success for the club
The Summer Festival of Football is the club’s biggest annual fundraiser. £10,000 has been raised and will be reinvested back into the club to improve facilities. This will include:
- Installation of land drains on pitch one;
- A contribution towards the refurbishment of the Multi Use Games Area;
- Development of a steel canopy in front of the café to create an all-year outdoor seating area;
- Replacement of respect barrier / fencing on pitch one;
- Summer maintenance of pitch one and two ready for the new season;
- Security will be improved on Pitch One.
Dave Hoult, Secretary said “The Summer Festival of Football is the biggest event in the club’s calendar. We aim to provide the best experience for the teams taking part and it has been lovely to receive positive feedback. We start planning for 2023 now and I am sure we will have a few new surprises for those taking part.”
“The festival allows us to continue to invest in the facilities for the club and we have ambitious plans to improve the football facilities available in Tupton.”
